Alleviating poverty, building futures
Never mind the milkround or the rat race: after leaving university, Jamie decided to do something a little different. He spent several months working at a school in Ghana. Not only was the experience much more fun than sitting on the Tube, it inspired him to create Onechild Ghana: a charity that helps Africans to help themselves, giving them the means to develop their potential.
Despite supporting Leyton Orient for years, Jamie has managed to preserve his love of football, which has seen him act as player-manager for a five-a-side team and organise an annual tournament to raise funds for Onechild Ghana. Jamie works in London as an account manager for a market research firm. Some would consider it a dream job, since it forces him to visit plenty of pubs and bars. He is married and has a degree in French and German from Leeds University.
Onechild Ghana run a number of projects throughout the year aimed at helping to achieve our goal of alleviating poverty and building futures for young Ghanians.
